Heart, phase two

Heart, phase two.
I have another heart issue. Minor as it is, it still requires a procedure. It is just a stent. I had a cardiac catheterization to clear me for an upcoming discectomy in my back. Unfortunately, the cardiologist found a minor problem, but he cleared me for surgery. However, the back anesthesiologist freaked at his report and denied the surgery. Now I have to get the stent. My regular cardiologist is unavailable, so I will be provided with another doctor from the practice because they do not want to wait. I am okay either way. The thing is, I want this done so I can move on to the back surgery, which is where this all started. I need the back surgery to put the rest of my life in order. The side effects are too difficult to handle daily. Sadly, the stent recovery is three months, so I have a long wait for the back surgery. It also means waiting for a reintroduction into recovery, something I need. My alcohol use needs to stop. Rehab can help with that. I’ve gotten over the loss of friends. It was not all on me, although I played a significant part. I suspect they also had alcohol use disorder or at least alcohol abusers. I went overboard. With this second heart procedure following the bypass, I wonder about my health. At 60, I wonder how much more time. I lost most of my friends; the rest no longer talk to me. Life moves on for me and everyone. That is okay. The heart goes on.
